Sleep is included in the primary requirement for a healthy body and soul. There are several reasons why sleep is important. If our lack of sleep, the risk of diabetes, stroke, obesity, hypertension up, will increase.
The interesting thing about sleep is that if we sleep too much more than the recommended 7-8 hours every night, then we will also be at risk for heart disease. This fact is not the only interesting thing about sleep. Here are some other startling facts about sleep you may not know:
- Dreams can occur in all phases of sleep
First, researchers thought that we could only dream phase of sleep in Rapid Eye Movement (REM). Later corrected this opinion because research suggests humans could dream at all phases of sleep. During non-REM phase, formed by the dreams of human thoughts, feelings, and emotions they experience.
- Not all people need to wake up alarm
Some people do not need the alarm to wake up at the same time because they already have an internal alarm clock. Such people are usually able to wake up because of the stress hormone adrenokortisotophin. Our bodies produce the hormone's biological response to stress due to be given an important meeting in the morning that ultimately make us wake up.
- Children and adolescents need to sleep the same time

- The brain never sleeps
Body may be tired and sleepy, but our brain never stops working. As long as we fall asleep, the brain would be busy ordered to keep organ systems functioning, such as respiratory organs.
- Danger of restless sleep
There are certain people who could never be quiet when sleeping, they kick or punch even while sleeping. According to research, such a person at higher risk for neurological diseases such as Parkinson's disease as they get older.
- Lack of sleep reduces the concentration
With enough time to sleep is very important because otherwise you will experience impaired concentration and problem solving skills. Lack of sleep also makes us easy to forget.
- Sleeping position affects beauty
Many believe that sleeping on your back can make young people. The truth is, sleeping on his side or stomach will make direct contact with the pillow face. This causes the formation of "stripes" in the face that can lead to wrinkles.
