Brain Hospital First in Indonesia to 2012 Soft Launching End


Indonesia will soon have a National Brain Center Hospital (RS PON), which will be soft launching in December 2012. Although the five-star facilities, 67 percent of hospital beds in specialized nerve and brain disorders in Indonesia it will first be allocated to class 3.

"December 2012 will be opened as a sof opening in July 2013 and was absolutely the opening," said Acting Health Minister, Prof. Ali Gufron Mukti in a visit to the hospital construction site PON in Cawang, East Jakarta, Friday (06/08/2012).

Prof Gufron rate, the construction of a hospital which occupies a land area of ​​1.1 hectares is quite fast. Since the groundbreaking ceremony conducted Alm Health Minister Endang Rahayu Sedyaningsih on 1 November 2011, when this 12-story high building is already visible shape.


Interestingly according to Prof. Gufron, RS PON is built with the concept of comprehensive and very modern. However, from 449 beds to be provided, 67 percent of which will be allocated to class 3 and the facilities are not less good.

Built at a cost of about Rp 217 billion, RS PON will be the referral center for a variety of problems associated with nerve and brain function. Not only for treatment, the hospital will also be a center for research, including stem cell development.

In addition, PON RS will also be a center of technology transfer and knowledge in the field of nerve and brain health. Not just with fellow physicians in the area, but also with overseas doctors who may have an advantage in that field.

One of the many problems faced by Indonesia in relation to the nerves and the brain is a stroke from very mild to lethal. Estimated population of every 1,000 deaths, 8 of which are caused by stroke.
