Let Smart, Students Must Diligent Sports
Exercise not only makes the body become more fit, your mind also fresh making it more favorable to learning. According to a recent study, exercise 5 times a week can improve student achievement among 55 to 68 percent.
Studies involving hundreds of elementary school students in Charleston was conducted by scientists from the Medical University of South Carolina Children's Hospital. The results have been presented at the Pediatric Academic Societies annual meeting in Denver earlier this month.
In other research, the students in grade 1 to grade 6 additional hours are required to follow the sport for 40 minutes / day 5 times per week. Previously, as quoted from Medicinenet, students exercise only once a week with the same duration of 40 minutes.
This type of deliberate exercise combined with students' learning activities. For example, classes 1-2 learn to count up and down stairs with a given color, while grade 3-6 are invited jogging on a treadmill while flipping through the subject matter of geography.
Before and after the experiment, the scientists measured the ability of the students receive lessons. The result, after hours of exercise was increased to 5 times / week then learning achievement that is significantly increased between 55 to 68.5 percent.
These findings suggest that the more often students do physical activity will increase the learning achievement. Increase would be more efficient if physical activity is also integrated with the learning process, so it does not require its own time.
Various previous studies did show, physical activity shown to improve brain function. According to research in 2010, walking 40 minutes a day 5 times / week to maintain cognitive function or intelligence in the elderly and young people.
