Female Condoms Not Practice in India

Maybe all this male condom is far more widely known than the female condom. The female condom itself is often only used as an alternative if the man did not want to or are reluctant to use such safety during intercourse.

But apparently one of the leading manufacturer of female condoms in India failed to market condoms. Company named HLL Lifecare Limited (HLL) such indicates that the the sales figures of products condom his female not satisfactory. Even in the last fiscal year, only 38 000 pieces of condoms were sold in the market.

Even so, HLL which is under Ministry control of Health and Family Welfare India this admitted to not worry because it took more than two decades to make the condoms men known and widely accepted in India, let alone with condom female.

"Though our products are called 'Velvet' This is the only female condom approved by the WHO and sold in several countries. But we realize that this product requires a long time to be accepted," said spokesman HLL.

Security products are sold through two channels, free markets and networks National AIDS Control Organization (NACO).

"HLL produces 320 000 female condoms in the last fiscal year in which 280 000 of which were sold by the NACO. Earlier in the 2010-2011 fiscal year, sales in the free market is only 25,000 but managed to distribute 800 000 NACO fruit," added the spokesman as quoted by timesofindia HLL, Thursday (07/05/2012).

Reason for low sales is bad publicity. Even reportedly there are no publicity or advertisements about the condom female in any TV channels in India.

"Fortunately, NACO has formed the Hindustan Latex Family Planning Promotion Trust to distribute these products through a number of NGOs (non-governmental organizations NGOs) and commercial sex workers (CSWs). Therefore, we expect to continue to supply our NACO," said Sharat Agarwal, one of The union staff.

United had been working with about 270 NGOs in the state of Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Maharashtra and Karnataka.

"We have been supplying these products to 250 000 sex workers and in nine other Indian states. We are also carrying out operational research to expand our network," added Agarwal.

Spokesman HLL put forward that the up to now sales of condom women around the world already surpassed 50 million fruit annually.
